According to foreign media, Zelensky comments on the call with the Chinese president, who was held on Wednesday morning during a joint press conference with the presidents of Slovakia and the Czech Republic on Friday.
Zelensky stressed that he used the key “conversation to raise the issue of around 20,000 Ukrainian children, for whom Kiev accuses Russia of forced expulsion.
Ukrainian president said foreign countries, including China, should help Ukraine bring children home.
“So far, only Ukraine is helping Ukraine with the return of children”, Zelensky was quoted as saying.
Otherwise, in March, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Russian President Vladimir Putin and another Kiev official, Maria Lvo-Belova, accusing them of playing key roles in the scheme.
In addition, Zelensky said Wednesday's call included a discussion on Ukraine's territorial integrity.
Ukrainian leader indicated that he also received a “positive response” from China after describing the dangers facing any country that supplies weapons to Russia.
