Kamenica Mayor Kadri Rahimaj, who comes from the Vetevendosje Movement, has said the goal of the Government of Kosovo to take untapped means from municipalities is to make the latter make the use of financial means more efficient.
He has added that the only mistake the government has made is the fact that it has not announced the municipalities in time to take these means.
“This government initiative I believe has had this goal that municipalities be more efficient in relation to spending revenues so that they can realise”, he said in Klan Kosova.
This is about increasing the efficiency of each municipality separately because many municipalities collect large means and fail to spend or spend on election campaigns”.
According to him, municipalities are failing to spend the resources we get from the government while making some sort of noise for tools that we can't use.
The only concession I can call the government has been the lack of preliminary announcement to municipalities. If the government made the warning advance, then municipalities would do better to spend their means”.
