At this meeting, which is open to the public, Serbian Prime Minister Anna Brnabiq and other Serbian ministers are attending.
The Serbian president also talked about not participating the Serbian List in the local elections in northern Kosovo, held on April 23rd. He called on citizens in Kosovo to be united and to act according to decisions to be made.
“ [Kosovo Prime Minister Albin] Kurti will be chairman of North Mitrovica”, he said.
During the meeting, he said Kosovo is interested in Serbia knowing it de facto and de jure, and that “a are not interested at all in when the association” of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo will be established.
Vuciq said that association must be formed so that Serbs can return to institutions.
The Serbian president at the start of the meeting presented economic incentives for the Serb community in Kosovo, which he said would be financed by Serbia's budget. He said he would then work on the political security situation and other political problems, writes the REL.
We have looked to people in Kosovo who are afraid. We know they're not cowards. But, we are trying to be constructive in order to preserve peace”, Vuciq said, expressing his view of the situation in northern Kosovo.
The Kurti is committed every day to ugly things, incidents. But it is not an incident when shooting at the man to kill”, Vuciq said, referring to the wound of a Serb community member in northern Kosovo by Kosovo Police on April 10th.
Vuciq said that, in accordance with what the Serb political representatives will say at the meeting, “make conclusions” and try to force Serbian authorities to adhere to them.
Vuciq had announced this meeting in Rashka last week, when he said that representatives of Serbs from Kosovo would come up with a “platform joint” for elections in northern Kosovo “and for all future events”.
As he has said, the platform will include security, political, economic and social measures for the Serb population in Kosovo, but Vuciq has not indicated specifically what measures it is all about.
The Serbian president has also reiterated that “Serb representatives” will not participate in elections scheduled to be held on April 23rd in four municipalities in northern Kosovo, in northern Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin Potok, respectively.
The election decision was made after the mayors, along with other Serbs, resigned on November 5th last year, in sign of opposition to the Kosovo government's decision to launch the process of reregistering Serbian vehicles with illegal license plates.
The Serbian list, the largest Serb party in Kosovo, has not applied to participate in elections in the north. The European Union and the QUINT group countries United States, Great Britain, Italy, France and Germany have expressed regret why the Serbian List has not used the right to participate in the elections.
