Visa liberalisation for Kosovo will have a positive impact on Kosovo's overall economic and social development. Speaking to Radio Kosovo experts of the economy, they estimate that Kosovo's economic citizens will have access to contact and strengthen partnerships in EU countries and access to the market.
Kosovo has lost many good economic opportunities and other areas, due to its non-free movement towards EU countries. Economy expert Safet Gerxhaliu, speaking of Radio Kosovo, says visa liberalisation for Kosovo citizens has economic, psychological, political and geostrategic significance. According to him, economically, there will be opportunities to contact and strengthen partnership, technology opportunities, opportunities for education and market access.
“In the wood sector we've had huge losses in export, because we've exported ready-to-do products, but in the impossible assembly and delivery that will add to export value. This will be a perspective. Disturbing it may be that there will be a huge influx of movement and a challenge for the diaspora, because there may also be a decline in remittances from diaspora to Kosovo, because it is impossible to carry the burden of visits to Kosovo and the maintenance of family members there”, Gerjaliu stressed.
Economist Muhamet Mustafa, speaking of Radio Kosovo, also estimates this is a historic event for the country and the citizens of Kosovo. Visa liberalism has positive effects in many areas, Mustafa says.
This facilitates direct communication and business transactions, agreements, partnerships are stimulated among EU member states. It is more important not only in terms of the exchange of goods, but also in general in advancing scientific research, cultural-cultural education, sports, and communication in these areas certainly raising the level in Kosovo's overall development”, he has said.
Meanwhile, the Kosovo Business Alliance has estimated that liberalisation will save Kosovo around 20m euros annually. Through an announcement, Kosovars have estimated that the Kosovars paid a lot of high financial time to obtain a business visa, family union, tourist visa or work visa, while the visa term was high.
