Ukraine: Seven killed by Russian air strike in the town of Slovenansk

Russia steps up Bakhmu efforts
Ukrainian troops have been forced to withdraw from parts of the town of Bakhmut after Russian forces undertook a new attack on the war-torn town.
In its daily assessment, the British Army said Friday that, “Russia has revived its attack on the town of Bakhmut of the Donetsk region after Russian Army forces and the Wagner Group have improved co-operation”.
Ukrainian officials say Russia has withdrawn troops from other areas to the front to create the premises of a major attack on the town of Bakhmut, which Moscow has been trying for nine months to get, to regain the momentum of the start of large-scale aggression more than a year ago.
Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister Hanna Malar said Russian commanders had brought troops to Bakhmu from other areas.
The enemy is using his most professional units there and is significantly exploiting artillery and air tools”, she wrote on the Telegram message application. “Every day, the enemy commits 40 to 50 operations and 500 artillery strikes,”, she noted.
Reports by the British military say Ukrainians still control the western parts of the city, but two days ago were severely attacked by Russian artillery fire.
