Trump sues his former $500m magazine

Former American President Donald Trump has indicted his former company for $500 million with the claim of violating the contract. He says Michael Cohen violated his duty as a lawyer. The indictment comes amid attacks escalated by Trump's allies against Cohen, who is a key witness in investigations into the former president.

A Manhattan prosecutor last week accused Trump of cheating on cash payments to a porn star. The legal action, presented to a federal court in Florida, also charges Cohen with <x0 malpractice, selfish and malicious statements for his former client, family members and his business”.

Cohen worked as a Trump lawyer for over a decade. But both had a disagreement after the 2016 elections, as investigators began to look at some of Trump's aides. In 2018, Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison and a fine after being convicted of fraud and violation of campaign financing.

Now outside the prison, Cohen has become a strong critic of Trump. He has written a book and organizes a podcast, which Trump mentions in the indictment. He says Cohen invented conversations and wrongly called Trump a <x0-racist” in his 2020 book “Disloyal”. /abcnews. al
