Svechla has given the government credit Kurti for this decision, saying it's “confirming of our unspoiled work”.
Even a next victory for the Republic of Kosovo, the visa liberalisation process for our citizens has just been finalised. Although the moment of joy and confirmation of our unspoiled work, we do not have time to celebrate because we have much work and challenges to overcome. Our commitment not only is indebted to the past but is also duty to our country's future”, Svechla wrote.
This decision will be officially signed tomorrow in Strasbourg by the European Parliament and the EU Council. The signing ceremony will also include the first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialog Besnik Bislimi.
The news has revealed the Prime Minister's Office through a press report.
“Visa liberalisation is already a reality. Today, it was voted positively in the European Parliament and the final decision on visa liberalisation. It will be officially signed tomorrow in Strasbourg by the European Parliament and the Council of the EU, where the first Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Development and Dialog, Besnik Bislimi”, said in the statement.
The decision will be published in the official newspaper and takes effect 20 days after the publication. Under this decision, citizens of the Republic of Kosovo will be able to move visa-free into the Schengen area, and not later than January 1st, 2024.
