Court acknowledges Selimi's defence motion for rejection as evidence of some of the first witness's statements

(Updated, 10:20) In Kosovo Specialised Chambers ( In The Hague, the court has accepted Rex0>'s defence motion for failing to accept as evidence of a piece of the testimony of the first witness in the case against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders (UÇK), former President Hashim Thaci, former Prime Ministers Kadri Veselin and Jakup Krasniqi, as well as former President Rexhep Selimi.

According to Judge Charles Smith III, the acceptance of this test could cause unfair violation of the accused.

The same one has said that the SPS is not allowed to ask questions about the incidents described in paragraph 3, 16 and 23 of the material, reports the Justice Act.

As for the witness's testimony, he said references to these attacks from any material intended to present as evidence should be edited.

Initially, the same clarification will be addressed for the exemption of evidence submitted on April 6th, with which Thaci's defence and Krasniqi's defence have been hired.

Selimi's defense requires that the X witness's testimony be ruled out, for evidence that is out of the time frame of events presented in the indictment, the judge said further.

For this motion, Judge Smith said the SPS has responded 12 April.

According to the judge, the SPS has rejected the same motion with argument that the testimony is acceptable according to rule 137 and 138, and considering testimony as relevant and authentic.

The trial body remembers that the evidence side must demonstrate that the facts it wants to prove are relevant to the case, Judge Smith said away.

Otherwise, the session is continuing with the witness's hearing by answering Krasniqi's defence questions, which is private, as well as at other times.
