On Sunday, April 23rd, in four municipalities in northern Mitrovica, Zubin Potok, Zvecan and Leposaviq local elections were held.
The ongoing turnout was low - a little over 3 percent, according to the Central Election Commission.
This, as the Serbian List ʹ the largest party of Serbs in Kosovo é did not participate in the elections and called on Serbian citizens to boycott them.

According to CEC data, in northern Mitrovica and in Leposaviq, the Vetevendosje Movement candidates won, while in Zubin Potok and Zvecan they of the Democratic Party of Kosovo.
Through a statement distributed to the media, Radoic said he believes the “all understood the message that the Serb people from the north of Kosovo”, which largely boycotted the election process.
Radoic said he thanks his fellow countrymen from Leposaviqi, Zvecani, Northern Mitrovica and Zubin Potoku for <x0patiotism, dignity, honour and unity testified to”.
The “is in our hands that together with our country, Serbia, and with President Aleksandar Vuciq to continue the fight to preserve the peace and the right of Serbs to live their lives”, Radojic said.
Official Belgrade, which supports the Serbian List, has also called for boycotting the elections.
Serbia and Serbs in Kosovo seek the establishment of the Association of Serb majority municipalities in Kosovo, which Pristina and Belgrade have agreed to ten years ago before taking part in any vote.
The EU and the US have said last week that they are disappointed with the fact that Serbs have decided not to participate in the elections.
The municipalities in the north have been without mayors since November last year, when Serbian officials in this area have resigned from all institutions, due to a Kosovo Government plan to replace illegal Serb plates with those of Kosovo.
