Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic, on his visit to several Asian countries has lobbied since Kosovo's non-recognition by those states.
“Visita in Tajikistan was extremely important, given, as I said during the visit to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, that Serbia neglected the Central Asia region, which is very important, where there are five extremely friendly and traditionally close to us who are on our side when it comes to preserving our territorial integrity and sovereignty”, the chief of Serbian diplomacy said.
The “in talks with Tajikstan officials was once again confirmed Tajikstan's support for our integrity and territorial sovereignty, and it was clearly said they will not recognise the unilaterally declared independence of Kosovo”, Dachic said, as Serbian-language medium “Kosovo Online” broadcasts Express.
Dacic claimed Serbia has strengthened its position in foreign policy when it comes to Kosovo.
“None of those countries will recognise Kosovo and will continue to support the principled positions of the Republic of Serbia”, Daciq has said.
In the agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia, Article 4 clearly says Serbia must reject Kosovo's integration path and that the parties represent each other in the international arena.
The “Pales proceed with the assumption that neither can represent the other in the international sphere or act on its behalf. Serbia will not oppose Kosovo's membership in any international organisation”.
The EU has also commented on earlier statements by Serbian President Vuciq that constituted violations of the agreement. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kurti had complained that Serbia is breaking the agreement.
