SBASK sharply rejects MAST's idea of testing teachers

The education ministry is preparing a legal package in which the license of teachers of the Republic of Kosovo is envisioned. In addition, news reports have circulated in the media for a possible written test of teachers. But such an idea has not been welcomed by the SBASK. SBASK Chairman Nundman Jasharaj has [...]

The SBASK chairman, Nundman Jasharaj, has shown that their attitude is against the written test of teachers because according to him, there was no such test anywhere in the world.

We have the firm decision of the SBASK, which we also hold, written testing of Kosovo's teachers' wisdom, there won't be any after that. We insist that the capacity of the education inspectorate be increased and sent to schools, to take a closer look at the work of education workers”, Jasharaj told IndexOnline, adding that it would be good to have the performance of teaching through inspectors, but by no means a written test.

Jasharaj also stressed that such an assessment is degrading and derogatory, not only for their professional achievements, but also for the Faculty of Education, where they say they have asked enough questions.

He said that from August to August, they expect progress from the operating license to the other license and take other degrees and that the degree movement is voluntary.

While from the Ministry of Education, Science and innovation through a written answer to IndexOnline, they have said it is preparing a package of legislative changes that affect the quality of teaching and learning lessons respectively.

“The processing group has drafted the draft for this instruction and will soon start wide discussion with teaching about this legal package. This UA draft envisions 3 levels of licenses ( there is a career license, advanced license and permanent license). The transition from one license to another is realised through the assessment of the internal and external existence and the assessment expected to be organised by AugustI. If the teacher moves from a career license to an advanced license, an additional addition is provided at a salary of”, the report says.

From the ministry also suggests that these levels of licenses apply only to pre-graduate education and that implementation of these license levels will begin after finalisation of the legal framework.
