It is reported that Turkey has arrested over 100 “persons associated with Kurdish militants”

Turkish police have arrested 110 people allegedly linked to militants, according to security sources, Reuters reports. As reported, the raid operation has focused on Diyarbakir, Turkey's largest heavily populated city and southeast. Police operations have been conducted in the other 21 provinces, marking persons accused of having links to the militant group of Kurdistan Workers' Party.
The operation comes less than three weeks before presidential and parliamentary elections, presenting the biggest electoral challenge for President Recep Tayip Erdogan since his subject, the Justice and Development Party, came to power in 2002.
“On the eve of elections, for fear they will lose power, they have resumed arrest operations”, Tayip Temel, lawmakers from the Democratic People's Party, wrote on Twitter.
He said politicians, including members of his party, journalists, artists and lawyers, are among the people arrested in Diyarbakir on Tuesday morning.
Erdogan has often accused the Democratic People's Party of having links to the Kurdistan Workers' Party. But this political subject has dismissed these accusations.
The Democratic People's Party last month did not compete with any candidate for the May 14th presidential elections, but offered support for Erdogan's main rival, Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
