Albania's Prime Minister, Edi Rama, has often been politically attacked for close connection with Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq.
However, Rama is not complex as he gives his positive opinion on Serbia's integration into the European Union.
In an interview for the Italian show “Porta or Gate”, Rama stated that Belgrade's membership does not scare him, rather, he thinks it is a geostrategic movement to prevent him from going into Russia's arms.
Not only are we not afraid of this, but we are a sufficiently distinguished voice in the Western Balkans that says we have to keep Serbia very close and we have to do everything to be politically united. On the other hand, there are certainly differences because Serbia has not sanctioned Russia for clear reasons that at some point it should be understood that they are the reasons of political and historical nature, but also of the pragmatic nature”, Rama said.
For Rama, one should not imagine a European Union welcoming the other Balkan states, rather than Serbia.
“
On the other hand, Rama said she thinks all countries in the region should make efforts to avoid being involved in combative passion by leading to the creation of disputes between NATO member states and pro-NATO, and between Serbia and the Slavic-orthodox communities, which are closely linked to Russia. /tvclean
