Qualification in Major, stuck in online tournaments and success in the Lan of Bad News Eagles what are the English words he's learned? He speaks for the first time in a Kosovo media, the Swedish coach of our CS:GO

Kosovo team “Bad News Eagles” is continuing to make us proud of its extraordinary world presentations regarding the CS:GO game. The Kosovo fives, four months ago, joined Swedish Jonathan “Devilwalk” Lundberg, on the team coach, writes Periscope. “Devilwalk”, once as a player, has won the Mayor [the biggest tournament [...]
“Devilwalk”, once a player, has won the mayor [the biggest train in CS:GO] ever held in this game.
How he started his coaching work and what his intentions are with the BNE, in an exclusive interview for Periscope, the team coach himself speaks.
You can view the video below:
INT PLOSE ERVIS:
Periscope: Hello Jonathan, or should I call you “Devilwalk”
“Devilwalk”: They're both fine, I don't mind. I can meet both names, so I'm pretty good. Thank you for the invitation.
Periscope: Thank you for the time you found to join me in the interview.
Devilwalk, less than four months ago, was introduced as the youngest coach of “Bad News Eagles”. You said in the Instagram that “couldn't be more satisfied than that, let's get some of these medals”, meaning first-place medals. Are you still as happy today as you were four months ago?
“Devilwalk”: No, I think I'm even happier. I think we've made timely progress, the right things at the right time, and we keep fighting. We had three consecutive finals, and it's known we lost them, an LAN event in Malta and two online tours, but it was an experience for us. So, boys are getting up, as well as individually, and I'm glad.
Periscope: Actually, let's start here. You mentioned the Malta tournament. On February 16, the first match on the Malta tournament. As it began, by defeating the rival, perhaps the largest in this tournament, Etherl Fire, it seemed as if Bad News Eagles would win the first prize. After you beat them twice in this race, they had to see you back in the finals, somehow... At the conclusion of this so successful journey, The BNE was completely defeated by the Turkish team. What you think, was the “without luck” for boys or something planned didn't go right.
“Devilwalk”:No, I think the <x0Endal Fire” fought a hard fight, but I think it's hard to win against a team twice and I don't know exactly how to prepare for the third time, in such a short time. I think that those who lose have easier work in practice, in that sense, because they know what needs to be changed and it's kind of hard to predict what they're going to do, so we can understand them in the game whenever it happens.
I think that hurt me a little bit, but they deserved to win. Nothing more to add, but I think it was important for us to lose and get up. And from this bad experience in the finals, let's get something better. Like the trauma, the one with the <x0-- the defune defune”, I don't think I've seen the sharpest guys ever after the bomb mount, after this incident that happened to you. It's like a reminder when the bomb knocks, and this trauma is getting pretty good out of them. In such cases, you raise yourself individually and also as a team.
Periscope: Despite that, second place is an achievement for boys and for you as a new team coach. In March, online tourism “Bet Boom”. The BNE managed to pass through the group phase, however in the first match at “Play off”, was defeated by team “Forze”, 2-0. What I want to ask you and that you care, I believe everyone is from what we've seen to this day, even when you weren't part of the team, BNE is stuck, it hasn't shown a good performance on online tours, and it's much more successful when it comes to LAN tournaments. Do you think that the boy's “Hype”, which you already know, that we Albanians know about it, is bigger when it comes to tournaments Lan, compared to those online. Is it something else you think of, or...?
“Devilwalk”: I fully agree. It's something that we've been working on and I think tournaments Lan, to be on the lookout, to look at each other, we can have another energy compared to online games. But it's something we talked about. We brought in sports psychologists, my good friends, while we were at “bootcamp” and we discussed this. It's a big difference if you don't have that energy for online games like those in Lan. We need at least to be more careful in order to have this energy, because this is also the power of the team and individual skills, which Kosovo Albanians have this fire in themselves. That's why we need this in online games.
Periscope: Before we get to the big event, Mahori”, I want to stop here for something special. I'll tell you now that it's special to this interview as well. Last night after we talked together, I saw fit to inform the CS-GO community of the interview we're having. In a group of more than 17 thousand active members, it is called “CS GO ALBANIA”, I asked them if they wanted to ask you a question. Even I was surprised at the many reactions I received in a few minutes after I posted the news. Besides the love they gave you, wishing you a long and successful job with the team, they had some questions. Let's go answer you as we can.
- One of them asked, are you happy with the team and do you see yourself as BNE coach for a long time?
“Devilwalk”: I'm very, very happy with the boys and the BNE and I don't consider leaving or continuing with anything else until we stop. I want to do this for a long time with them. I'm also trying to learn Albanian. I asked Sinnopsy and Sener to bring me some books in order to learn.
Periscope: Sounds great. Was it easy to fit in with guys, considering that they speak Albanian? (But, of course they speak very well English)
“Devilwalk”: It's obviously a challenge is something more for me, in a way that I understand and agree with, but it's an interesting challenge and I think I'm on a good track so far. They're teaching me a few words in Albanian, especially in context language, maybe not so much in a social way, but as if <x0m>le of queek-um” if they say so, right... I think I understand most of the Albanian language of the container at this point. And I think it helps me put into my mind and make sure it's easier for them and not make it more difficult for them as well. And I think it's important that the boys understand that I take care of them. That's why I'm doing it.
Periscope:I'm glad to hear that. Someone else asked: If we're against “NAVI” in the finals, what you predict. I think it was for “Major” A tough question actually...
“Devilwalk”: To be honest, I don't want to answer that question, but I can tell why. For us, it's very important that you have the least expectations, because as a player, if you think psychologically and you're waiting here, every little thing will upset you. And we're a <x0... team fire” that we show emotion in the game. So we're working on the expectations not too high. We only look for one round and that's all because otherwise we will have negative emotions and thoughts, and it will affect our energy in the game and outside of it. So we try to keep them as short as possible for the future.
Periscope: A question that's been raised and I have to tell you that it's also been asked “me” in Kosovo... Do you know, or should I tell you?
“Devilwalk”: I don't know...
Periscope: It's about the first Devilwalk “on the Window”. They want to know how you felt when you found this?
“Devilwalk”: It's not something I took credit for in the CS-GO community. It was great, but I knew I was the first person to shoot first on <x0Mage”.
Periscope:Everybody already uses this...
Periscope: How do you see the team compared to others? Do we have the capacity to win trophies over the years?
“Devilwalk”: I'm pretty sure we can win our first tours if we really win for this. I think it's a lot about energy management. Let's make sure we have enough energy during the year, take time break and quepeek-um in our individual skills at the right time. You get a lot of thoughts and changes week after week, but I think it's the most important thing. Because I think individually, mechanically, we're at the top of 6-8 best teams in the world.
I think we're stuck a little bit on how to play two vs two, three vs threes and stuff. That's why I worked very hard with guys to get better. It's not that they haven't had knowledge of this, but I think it's been less prepared compared to now. If you want to win big titles where it should be...
Periscope: Another question is: Is it easy to work with guys... considering that you like making fun of a lot. The end of this question is a bit different in Albanian and I couldn't say it like that. Can you imagine the words they use...
“Devilwalk”: Yeah, I learned some “shaca” in Albanian. No, it's easy to work with them even though sometimes I look like “bulla” because I don't understand all of this. They like to do this, but they are extremely respectful and respectful. When I tell you “okay, it's enough now. Let's go now”, they focus and take it seriously every day and that's very important that we share time together in order to manage energy levels. Or, for example. If we're joking about any practice, then this is time spent. So we need to add hours in order to be where we want to be. Essentially, the more they take the practice seriously, the more free time they will have.
Periscope: Of course, I have no doubt about it. Another one told me to ask: Like Juanfloftroo has said in a small country like Kosovo, there are many talents, how do you see this?
“Devilwalk”: The Balkan countries, particularly the Kosovo Albanians, I think you are extraordinary people. You're very careful, passionate, don't stop and work hard for the things you have. Even with fewer options as a country, you're still very proud, you support each other 100 percent, and that's why I have great admiration and respect.
Periscope: What impact is there on the “Devilwalk” as a trainer in the mentality and players' discipline, besides playing strategies?
“Devilwalk”: Something that I see very important is to make sure we're as positive as possible and not to deal with negative things as those words after the “this guy, or that guy” and so on.
You know... everybody has bad things, I do, Flatro, Sener and everybody on the team and we have to respect him because we can't all be alike. Everyone has different things and we have to work on it. Being a team is not having bad things, it's covering them for your friend so these things don't show up. I think that's what got him out of the game. The psychological knowledge that I have and maybe they haven't thought of it is that we work hard to get as good sleep as possible, what happens if I don't get enough sleep, make sure of the responsibilities they have before a match and be as prepared as possible. So that your body and your mind can work as well.
Periscope: Have you considered adding a new player to the team, maybe a sixth player, as a replacement?
“Devilwalk”: Not really. What we have now is an extraordinary team. I didn't mean it. I don't think I'm gonna change this formation. I think he'll make these guys better and I won't give up. If something doesn't work, I'll work another 100 percent before I think about changing a player.
Periscope: When we win the mayor, will you visit Kosovo?
“Devilwalk”: I think I will visit Kosovo, no matter what. In the summer... we talked about it and it would be a wonderful experience with boys and see more about culture and people. I heard that “GX-818x1> likes to... I'd like to go to that place and enjoy everyone.
Periscope: The reason you chose BNE and worked with boys?
“Devilwalk”: Passion, passion directly. They deserve everything in my book, when they display all this passion and war to do things, I truly delight and feed on it. That's the main reason. They're extraordinary people and I wish them all the best. If I'm that change, I'll do my best.
Periscope: Team target 2023?
“Devilwalk”:In principle, we want to win a tour of Tier 1, we want to make sure that we qualify for Tier 1 Pro League and try to get to places ESL. BLASTU, not just by qualifications. It would be nice to find an organization, but if it doesn't happen it doesn't matter much. We will continue to fight and reach Top 10 at the end of the year. That's our purpose.
I understand a lot of people, when they see us dropping rank down sometimes, but that's all part of the work we did for qualifications. In order not to be so read, we changed tactics for opposers not to understand our way of playing.
Periscope: Are you in contact with any professional organizations that you have received? That's what I have in my questions as well, but I think it's the manager's business, in this James Banks case. However, if you have anything to say, that's a fan question...
“Devilwalk”: At this time, neither I nor the players know so much, because we want to have the head relieved when we go to the tournament. If something big shows up, James will inform us, but we're trying to make sure we focus on what's important right now.
Periscope: BNE's strongest and weakest point, according to you. I think you can show the point, but not the weak because you don't want to show your opponents the weaknesses of the BNE.
“Devilwalk”: I think the strongest point is the energy they have, how close they are to each other as a team. The weak spot is our tactical loss, but I think we've improved a lot and we understand each other how we want the game to go. There are some small details that have been changed and that have a huge impact. It's gonna get stronger. If you listen to other professionals, I believe it was “Karrigan” that said you need at least a year to settle in. So, we have to be patient, we're working hard to make sure we have BNE DNA and make it even better. Add a new system to different situations, depending on whom we play. It takes a little patience.
Periscope: This [question] looks good: The Swedishs are known for their quietness, while on the other hand, what you already know, we Albanians are the opposite.
- Ask “Devilwalk” in this regard, whether players will join Swedish style, or stay in their style.
“Devilwalk”: I want to be who they are, the Kosovo Albanians. I want them to be fire. I think this is about creating me.
No, I actually think it's a good combination. They have this problem of overjoy sometimes, but I think it's a good combination that I bring a little quiet and make this flame smaller.
Periscope: Have you ever considered changing formation? You've already answered that question.
“Devilwalk”: No, I won't. Never.
Periscope: What rocketists do you see BNE in the near future?
“Devilwalk”: I hope I work to get to Top 10.
Periscope: Top 10 is the goal. Now, let's move on to the big event. It's a lot of fan questions, but I have to outdo some of them because of time. Let's get to the big event. Now three years our team, BAD NEEST EAGLE, has continued to make us proud of the extraordinary nature of CS-GO, so “MIOR” You started off bad, getting beat by 1 WIN. What was the problem with this fight?
“Devilwalk”: The boys started really well. We had those high expectations and got a little nervous and bored during the game. This cost us, but it was also something very important, like the same “slap on our face to wake us up and realize it's not going to be an easy way, even though we worked and didn't lose a practice. We worked for three to four weeks. With the fact that we were gonna play with the strongest teams in the world, I think it got a little bit in our heads. But I think one of the hardest fights to play is the first ones. Then the nerves relax a bit.
To be honest, we had an easy lot after that loss. It was something when we went to the room after that fight and I wrote down on the sign “we don't deserve anything, we fight for everything”
Periscope: That was beautiful... An extraordinary return from 0 ʹ 1 to 3-1. Beating teams like Viperio and Apeks, you went to the most important game yet, towards the FAZE team. CLAN. Not once, but twice. BNE manages to confront one of the best teams in the world, Face Clan. Where is the reason for this success back then?
“Devilwalk”: You know they're hard workers. We made some adjustments. In a way, we predicted what would be prepared for us. In basic form, we deceived them into “Inferno” by going to “A”, to hit them later to “B-site”. So, good preparation, a lot of positiveness, great joy... everyone was ready and eager to show you how strong we've become. Because it was hard to tell you this fact, with matches against Viperio and Apex. They showed this and I think we were the best team in the series.
Periscope: In words, describe your first emotions after defeating this team and securing your qualifications for BLAST PARIS MIOR.
“Devilwalk”: Elusive emotions... Personally, I've been practicing “Godsent” to Rio Mayor, but it was canceled because of Ovidius. Then we were on the Ritie-Breacker and we lost the place when I was on the “team. FPX, something we should definitely win. So for me, it was a release of emotion and... I to go for my purposes this year to prove to everyone that “I'm a good coach” and I can do this despite the language they speak [play]. It's a big challenge for me and I want the world to see this.
Periscope: After the match with Face, there was also the game against the Gamer Legion team for fourth place to cover directly at the Regens Stage. Were you more relaxed and convinced of the victory over opponents before the confrontation?
“Devilwalk”: Yeah, we were really comfortable, but at the same time we had 2-3 hours of sleep because we had the last game of day. When you qualify with full adrenaline, it is very difficult to lie in bed. Basically, we did our best. We spent a lot of energy on the map “Ancient”, but somehow we fixed and played our game. Once we continue, no one can stop us.
Periscope: We're almost at the end of the interview and I want to know more about the future of the team. - What's the focus now, when it's known that April 28th begins E SL Melbourne? Are you more focused on this race now? - And what are the expectations on this tournament considering that there are very strong teams here, like Complexity, Grayhold and so on...
“Devilwalk”: We're going to this tournament to win it. That's why we accept the invitation and make sure that we go to ʹ ESL Pro League. I believe it's vital to have one of these Top10 teams... For us, this is a good opportunity to show others at Lan Tourmenta against Top10, because it's the only way forward.
Periscope: The last question is what's the future of the CS2 team, knowing this is the last major? - Did you actually discuss with the guys...?
“Devilwalk”: No, we didn't. We're focused on these few days. But I'm sure we'll be together. This is my hope. Right now we're focused on CSGO. As CS2 is on our way, we'll deal with it.
Periscope: There's one thing at the bottom that doesn't go away with this: Can you tell us a few words about us, BNE hot fans, if you even know a word in Albanian, that I believe “Flatro” is “caring for this part? What's your message you want to send to BNE fans?
“Devilwalk”: I'm trying to think... I'm always saying my <x0... my guys”, but I heard I had to change it to...
However, I deeply appreciate the beautiful messages and the support that all Albanian and Kosovo fans give us.
You're the sixth player and we'll never replace you. I can't say by word how much we're fed by you and how much we appreciate you. It really helps us.
Periscope: And we will never stop supporting you. We'll always do it. Thanks for joining us today. It was my pleasure and I hope to see you in Kosovo when you come.
“Devilwalk”: Yeah, sure. That would be great. Thank you for inviting me. I'm gonna rest a little bit so I don't have my brain tired after all this road.
