Prosecutor Matthew Halling has continued with the opening statement, saying that during the interview at The Hague by specialised prosecutors, Rexhep Selimi, he has confirmed the posts the four indictees had during the war in Kosovo.
He later issued a portion of the interview in The Hague, where Selimi talks about who wrote the KLA communiqués and who was responsible for the message that should be released in public.
According to Halling, Thaci in late 1998 had taken the lead in the KLA's political directorate, Wessel had been responsible for the intelligence directorate, Selimi was the general inspector The KLA and Krasniqi were the spokesman, so “in charge of giving voice to the” policies of this organisation.
The prosecutor also stated that according to evidence in 1997, Rexhep Selimi had organised the grenade launcher attack on 12 police stations, helping him with Thaci and Wessel.
