Three prestigious Associated Press media, BBC and Reuters, have written about the trial process under way in The Hague to former KLA leaders, respectively, against former President Hashim Thaci.
They wrote about Thaci's statement as innocent of charges weighing on him for war crimes.
“Acuses date from Kosovo's fight of independence against Serbia in 1998-99, in which more than 10,000 died. Mr Thaci was co-founder of a group fighting for independence and considered hero in Kosovo”, the BBC writes.
“I understand the indictment and am completely innocent”, these media quoted Thaci as saying at today's trial.
The AP launched the article with prosecutor Whiting's statement that no one is above the law.
These media also wrote about the KLA, the war in Kosovo, as well as yesterday's protest in Pristina and today before the Special Court in The Hague.
“Rasti has prompted a wave of support from all over the political spectrum in Kosovo. On Sunday, thousands of people took to the streets to show their support for the defendants. Many Kosovars consider the Netherlands-based court an injustice and see it as an attempt to rewrite the history of their struggle for independence. With the trial opened, hundreds of Thaci supporters and other defendants gathered near The Hague's central railway station. Many waved flags and banners, including one reading: “Do not equate victims with criminals! ” Another announced: “U n CK fought for freedom””, the AP writes.
