In a media report, police have encouraged citizens to report any illegal cases during elections to be held on Sunday and this week.
“At the same time, the relevant institutions encourage all citizens to co-operate with the Kosovo Police, the State Prosecutor, the Central Election Commission (KQZ) and, to report on any illegal cases associated with security, with electoral process or even outside of them, the statement said.
Police in co-ordination with representatives of competent institutions, including the CEC, have reportedly undertaken all actions and measures under the mandate and legal authorisations for co-ordinating activities, in order to provide security and governance of the election process.
The aim of these planning and co-ordination is said to be implementation of the operational police plan, where Kosovo police aim at creating a safe and secure environment for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo -- money, during and after the election process.
“Granting vote rights, protecting life and property, preventing negative phenomena and criminal activities that would at any rate endanger security, tranquillity and stability, as well as taking legal measures against illegal actions etc.”, the report said.
This plan reportedly envisions that Kosovo police engage in professional, transparent and impartial legal tasks and responsibilities for citizens and the country to enable free exercise of voting rights to all participants in the election.
