Former partners criticise Kurti: Has made compromise has not won the main goal, recognition from Serbia

Former VV delegation Africa Casolli said that there is a link expected at this meeting to accelerate the dynamic implementation of the agreement, but that depends also on political developments accompanying Kosovo.

The “following all odds at the meeting, which is set to be held in May between the two leaders, will be discussed with the modalisation and implementation procedures of the Ohrid Agreement. It has already been made public that the assessment commission for implementation of these agreements has been established, and this meeting could happen to pave the way and serve as an intensive dynamic of implementation of the annex. It can only be expected whether the dynamics of its implementation will be accelerated, but this will depend on some preliminary political developments accompanying Kosovo”, he said.

Kasolli said major compromises took place in the Ohrid Agreement, as he put it. Kosovo has not won its main goal, recognition from Serbia.

“comproms have occurred according to all odds, this is an agreement, marks a Kosovo compromise in relation to Serbia, and the same time is not that we have won Kosovo's main goal of recognising Serbia. So we are obliged to implement this agreement but at the same time do not benefit what is vital for the state of Kosovo recognition from Serbia”, he said.

While the organisational secretary of the Social Democrat Party, Nol Niushi, who was part of the VV, said Kosovo is being introduced in a long and difficult cycle of ongoing negotiations.

He said Kosovo is accepting nonprofit obligations.

“Qych is now looking like we are entering a long and difficult cycle of ongoing negotiations. Nor is anything being accomplished with the Ohrid Agreement, which was promoted as a historic agreement, since we are seeing its implementation leaves much to be desired. Kosovo has taken on obligations which it is not crying without implementation because it has pledged itself to implement. And that would have been a problem, because we're getting obligations without profiting”, he said.

He stressed that at the start of this dialogue, the priority has been to be the most familiar in the centre, but according to him, now at the centre is the formation of association.

“The beginning of this dialogue has been the dialogue for central recognition, it no longer exists, and at the heart of the agreement it is the foundation of association. What is clear is that the Government has entered this process, has entered the process of establishing association. Neither does anyone know when the document on its establishment will be issued, but logic we know, the end of this process we know”.
