He made these comments as he presented a draft resolution for the two-year work of the Government of Kosovo.
Criticising the government's work, Tahiri said the executive has left some of the most important state agencies, including the Trust and Central Bank of Kosovo, without leadership and management.
The government is arbitrary in the decisions it has made, in the employment it has made with political, party and nepotistic criteria, Tahiri stressed.
Tahiri, further on, mentioned a series of other aspects in which, according to him, the Government has failed to develop real policies, including economics and foreign policy.
The criticism for Government also had the head of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), Memli Krasniqi, who said that due to the problems Kosovo is facing, the number of citizens who are migrating abroad has increased.
“Over the past two years, on average 147 people a day leave Kosovo to seek a better life abroad. On average over 1,000 citizens a week”, Krasniqi said.
Meanwhile, the head of the Democratic League of Kosovo parliamentary group (LDK), Arben Gashi, criticised Government for its high level of import from Serbia.
The resolution is an unprecedented trade deficit”, Gashi said.
He further accused the Government of failing to keep promises and mismanagement in different dictatorships.
Kurti: We developed the economy and strengthened the rule of law
Responding to the opposition's criticism, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said that in the past two years, the Government has shown success in the country's economic development, including boosting investments, opening new jobs, reform in justice, and fighting organised crime and corruption.
Speaking of the economy, Prime Minister Kurti said exports have increased, as according to him, “this year will be worth one billion euros”.
This, according to the prime minister, testifies to the vitality of Kosovo's economy.
Economic growth has also resulted in increased employment. For 21 months, between March 2021 and December 2022, primary employment has increased from 325 thousand and 467 employed to 362 thousand and 817 employed. So for 21 months, 37 thousand and 350 employees more, and the number of employed women is 50.3 percent of the total growth”, Kurti stressed.
Kurti said that two years is only half of the mandate, and that they still have work to do, but as he said, statistics show there is undeniable success.
“for two years has doubled foreign direct investment”, Kurti said.
The state budget has increased by 760m euros for two years while the economy has grown by 2.1 billion euros”, Kurti added.
Kurti also spoke of other government initiatives, such as the Law for the State Bureau for Verification and Confiscating of Inexcusable Riches and property in justice.
Among other things, Kurti said he was working on strengthening the order and the law, isolating the arrest of over 300 officials suspected of various criminal acts.
The government “Kurti 2” was voted in the Kosovo Assembly on 22 March 2021.
In February of that year, the Vetevendosje Movement, led by Albin Kurti, won parliamentary elections.
