North elections: Security experts say they can be postponed or not held at all

Security experts are praising that elections in the north could be postponed or even denied at all, as a result of continued pressure from the Serbian List of Groups in that part against Serbian citizens. Several cars with license plates have been burned in this section for the last few days RKS, which local Serbs had converted after the Kosovo Government's request. It was even reported that, according to AKI, in Serbia, exercises aimed at destabilising them are under way.

For this reason Drizan Shala, security expert, is assessing that burning cars is a message to Serbs who feel themselves citizens of Kosovo.

“The issue that was created in the Republic of Kosovo and in the northern part of its non-participation of the political subject, the Serbian List in the local elections on April 23rd, and its recent call for resistance to the constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo, is two serious violations under the penal code and criminal procedure, so it is a resistance to the Constitutional order of the Republic of Kosovo, and these are also a message for the Serb community in the Republic of Kosovo that have supported and supported and felt themselves as full citizens with equal rights in this Republika{0}>.

He said that if tensions increase and roads are blocked by different groups there, there is probably no choice at all.

“If tensions increase and we have roadblocks because there are relevant information, that these now structured groups of Milan Radocchiqi and the state-owned Belgrade have made an initiative in the northern part by calling the citizens, the common of the Serb community in that part, but also different businesses and the different machinery of institutions in the northern part to start blocking roads and thus nothing to enter the election process, April 23rd, but Kosovo institutions have taken all adequate measures and relevant as regards ensuring the overall election process of<1> said.

So does expert Nuredin Ibishi. He said all incidents created so far even boycotting the Serbian List are targeted by Belgrade, aimed at destabilising the north.

And all of this, all these tensions get orchestrated by Belgrade and through Serb extremists in the north, now the first plus Serb action now in this, which is involved in this and under investigation, there are many others who have enough data on their participation in these acts, so we have 8 cars in Zubin Potok, in northern Mitrovica, in Zvecan and Leposavic, and normal, even the attack on police officials, and it shows the escalation of tension in the sense of preventing the Serb election while simultaneously applying between 11x1 subjects, IOshi told the remaining subjects.

Ibishi is convinced that the elections will be postponed despite the reactions by international allies have been in Kosovo's favour.

I think there's going to be a political choice again, so I'm sure there's going to be a delay against what's been good in our favor, which means that our leadership both from the European Union and the United States, and that's a show of endurance and I think that we should insist on not being pushed, but if there are eventually threats to order and security and especially when elections are going to be peaceful democratic, then there's an opportunity for them to be delayed for a certain time of” said Ibi.

While Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the potential obstacles to these elections would face the force of the law. On the other hand, Kosovo presidency has said the situation is not normal in the north adds Vela, but that there is a “B” plan for the elections.

The extraordinary elections in four municipalities in the north are expected to be held on April 23rd, while the Serbian List as the main Kosovo Serb party has boycotted this election process.

The elections will be held after mayors from the Serb List ranks in municipalities in northern Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin Potok have resigned in early November last year, due to the Kosovo Government's decision to re-register cars with Serb license plates in Kosovo's license plates.

The resignation has even given up Serbs employed in the judiciary, administration, Police and Customs of Kosovo.
