Former ambassador of the Netherlands to Kosovo Robert Bosch says concerned that the situation in the country's north could escalate on the eve of local elections. Meanwhile, political expert Belgzim Kamberi questions the legitimacy of these elections.
On Sunday, Serbian and Albanian citizens will have access to ballot boxes under extraordinary elections in four northern municipalities.
Only two candidates from the Serbian community will participate in this election process, so connoisseurs of political issues are expressing doubts about the legitimacy of these elections.
Political affairs acquaintance Belgzim Kamberi says these elections can make the situation worse than offering any solution.
Meanwhile, former ambassador of the Netherlands to Kosovo Robert Bosch says Serbia is exactly what aims to take advantage of these situations.
He does not rule out the possibility that the situation could escalate into the country's north.
I am very concerned that the situation could escalate to northern Kosovo. As in the past, Serbia exploits these cases to create riots through ultra nationalists and then blame the Kosovo side. As for the Serbian List, it is the most anti-democratic party because of the way it acts with forms of pressure, but other options seem more extreme, and that is disturbing. Unfortunately, I can say that moderate Serbs have been put aside”
The largest Serbian party in Kosovo, the Serbian List, will not participate in this election. /Tve1
