Some Serbs today have protested the Bistrica Bridge, due to Milan Jovanovici's injuries from Zerovnica, April 10th, by a Kosovo policeman. Protesters crossed the ten-police cord and arrived at the checkpoint of the Kosovo Police Special Unit, where in front of them they signed the petition for the withdrawal of Kosovo Police Special Unit from the north.
Regarding the wound, Kosovo Police Inspectorate has arrested four police officers. The police involvement was initially denied, while it was later confirmed that the wound occurred by a policeman who fired a gun after the driver did not stop after the police signal.
For the first denial of police involvement, the American Ambassador to Kosovo Jeff Hovenier reacted with concern.
While, in this regard, for Blic newspaper, PDK MP Ganimetie Musliu, says institutions should be transparent and be brought to responsibilities.
The country's “Institutions should be transparent and more full responsibility to bring the situation to a conform competence”, she says.
Regarding the request of Serbs for Kosovo Police to leave the north completely, Musliu stresses that it is not something new and that it will be better for Serbs and Kosovo to distance them as soon as they distance themselves from Beograt's policies.
“is nothing new, Serbs in the north since the post-war are instrumentalised by Belgrade. The sooner they distance themselves from Belgrade politics, the better for them even for Kosovo in general”, she estimates for Blic newspaper. The PDK MP adds that the government should seriously address the north and that any tension there is going back to the country.
The government must take the north seriously. Any tension in the situation in the north is going back to Kosovo”, declares MP Ganimette Musliu.
