The municipalities insist that 100 euros not be forgiven by the tax, Ibrahimi says they lose tens of millions of euros.

He told Economy Online that a decision directly affecting the municipal budget has had to have broader discussion.

Ibrahimi has clarified that on the basis of analyses, after the proposal to be pardoned 100 euros from the tax, municipalities have found that the Incanomy will fall for 40%, thus losing tens of millions of euros.

“As well as other times, even this time the Ministry of Finance has not consulted municipalities in terms of drafting this law, this law will have impact on municipal budgets, and therefore the central level has had to consult municipalities in terms of drafting this document. This document envisions that municipalities make decisions on property tax forgiveness to 100 euros for each taxpayer, and this proposal from the central level certainly had to be consulted at the local level because it affects the budgets of the municipalities”.

“Based on the analysis of budget directors from our professional financial and budget college, if this clause is to be implemented by municipalities in the Republic of Kosovo, it turns out that the injection will fall for 40%, for the bills of 2023, so municipalities will register less than 40% of income from tax to property, means that this amount will be in total to tens of millions of euros, so the damage which I say can be caused by the implementation of this one is tens of millions of euros at a local level of <1)

He adds that although this decision affects the citizen's pocket, with no tax incompatibility, they will again be punished with the non-result of projects from municipalities.

Ibrahim expects them to be invited to the Parliament and to decide on the matter, EO reports.

Of course, the interest is in the citizen, the mayors think about the interest of the citizen, but in order to facilitate the lives of the municipalities also require cooperation, interaction with the central level of property tax. We are confident that the parliament of the Republic of Kosovo will consult municipalities because the Government has neglected this consultation, that is, it has not consulted municipalities at all, we are believing that the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo would be discussed with the mayors of municipalities on property tax, so that we can take a stand that is easier for the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, we are believing that in the coming weeks the mayors will be invited by the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, to be discussed in order for implementation to be easier for the citizen of the Republic of Kosovo<.

The best choice like every time is a discussion, with the main officials in this case, that is, the discussion has not happened by the Government, but I believe it will happen by the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, so that we have a bill that is easier to implement for Kosovo citizens, not to come to situations when property tax bills double and in some cases triple, without consultation with municipalities and guilt is wanted by the central level to be carried through <x1).

Such a proposal has been granted by Finance and Transfers Minister Iron Murati, after multiple increases in property tax, with the verdict pushing numerous reactions in the country.
