Lavrov: Peace talks with only new world “rend”

Russia believes that peace talks on the war in Ukraine are possible only under a new “world reform” without US domination. Lavrov links diplomatic negotiations with an almost impossible request.
According to the Ukrainian army, the situation in the eastern Ukrainian town of Bahmut is difficult. Ukrainian troops, however, are resisting the numeric superiority of Russian units, Ukraine's East Military Command spokesman Serhiy Tscherevanji told Reuters news agency.
Russian troops are focusing all their forces on conquering the city. Russia is marking tactical successes in some countries, but it is paying a heavy price, Tcherevatji said.
London sees profits from Russian side
According to the British secret service, Russian troops have gained ground in the Ukrainian city of Bahmut in recent days. According to the British Defence Ministry report, the Russians are now very likely to have entered the center of this eastern Ukrainian city and captured the west coast of the Bahmukka River.
Ukrainian soldiers stay under bare trees, behind them can be seen blasting fire, the soldier covers his ears.
A significant transportation route for supplies would be threatened for Ukrainians. While the Russians had made little progress since late March, Moscow significantly reinforced its presence in the area in question and used more artillery again, according to the British. The government in London also believes it is possible that tensions between the regular Russian forces and Wagner mercenaries, who fight for Moscow, are down and that both sides will co-operate again more successfully.
Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, the British Defence Ministry publishes daily updates on the performance of war. Based on information from the secret services, the British government wants to contest the Russian presentation and keep its allies informed. Moscow accuses London of carrying out a deinformation campaign. / DW
