Lavrov cites Kosovo at the UN, Albania's ambassador: You got an obsession.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, has again mentioned Kosovo during discussions on Ukraine at the UN Security Council. But the same has been answered by Albania's ambassador to the institution, Ferit Hoxha, who has told the Russian official that Kosovo has been made an obsession. During his word [...]
During his address to the UN, Lavrov said among other things that institutions in Pristina, meaning to the Republika authorities, cannot represent the interests of Serbs living in Kosovo, as Kiev cannot represent the Russians in Donbas and Crime.
“Pristina cannot claim that it represents the interests of Kosovo Serbs, who were promised autonomy by the European Union, just as Berlin and Paris promised special status for Donbass, the results of these promises are known, this is what our Secretary General eloquently declared during the second summit on democracy on March 29th”, Lavrov said.
However, Albania's ambassador to the UN, Ferit Hoxha, said Russia cannot mention Kosovo -- a state that is recognised by more than half of UN members -- to justify their actions.
According to Hoxha, international justice has confirmed that Kosovo's independence is in line with international law and this issue is closed.
“in particular, it has become a Russian obsession to refer to the Republic of Kosovo, a country recognised by more than half of the UN member states, to justify its illegal actions in Georgia in 2008, in Ukraine since 2014, which, as we all know, is continuing through these”
The International Court of Justice has ruled that Kosovo's independence is in line with international law, the same JND has demanded that Russia stop its fight, so there is nothing that sounds more empty than the desperate attempt to justify the unwarranted, and its attempt to hide behind the unacceptable”, Hoxha said.
Hoxha added that Russia must end its war, withdraw troops from Ukraine and respect Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity within internationally recognised borders.
We know that the Sun can't hide with its finger, and today once again, we heard nothing of the key issue under which the UN Charter Russia attacked its neighbour and strongly annexed parts of its territory. If we want to keep the UN as the cornerstone of the multilateral world, we have to show respect for each other, not contempt, we have to show solidarity, not threats, we have to choose diplomacy and promote dialogue, not fight, we have to work together, we have to stick to our commitments and we need justice through responsibility for the crimes committed, and for the perpetrators to be held accountable”, Hoxha said. / KP/
