Lajcak: On May 2nd, the draft Association statute will be presented, called on by Kurti and Vucinic to go prepared

The European Union's Emisari for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, has provided details on the purpose of the May 2nd summit between Kosovo and Serbia. He has said that at the May 2nd meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq will be presented annexing the Ohrid Agreement. He has asked both sides to go to a prepared meeting.
The declaration of missing persons that had been reached as an agreement at the chief negotiator level will also be adopted.
” With the next summit of high-level dialogue to be held on May 2nd, this is a time of intensive preparation. As the first summit after Ohrid, it will be an important meeting for implementation of its Agreement and Annex. The agenda will include the official adoption of the Declaration for Missing Persons, the presentation of the draft State of Association/Uniting of Serb Majority municipalities in Kosovo by the management team and current issues. Therefore, we expect both sides to come to Brussels well prepared and fully devoted to the implementation phase”, Lajcak wrote on Facebook on Sunday.
Lajcak has also indicated about his real-time meetings related to the issue of Kosovo dialogue -- Serbia.
” earlier this week in Brussels, I met with the commander of NATO's KFOR, Major General Ristuccia, to update each other in our respective areas of responsibility. I appreciate our close co-operation and his valuable knowledge of the security situation in Kosovo, in particular in northern Kosovo. I also had a meeting with the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Department of the European Economic and Social Dimitriadis Committee. I am grateful for his interest and support in the Dialogue and I appreciate the ECSE's practical efforts in promoting dialogue and co-operation in advancing our common goals in the Western Balkans, he has said.
Kosovo and Serbia reached an agreement in Ohrid on March 18th, though it was not signed.
In Kosovo, Prime Minister Albin Kurti has been criticised by the two opposition PDK and LDK parties that through the Ohrid Agreement, he has accepted implementation of the Association of Serb majority municipalities, which he has rejected during the time of opposition.
