The prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, was invited to participate in these activities organised under the auspices of Kamenica Mayor Kadri Rahimaj, in co-organisation with the KLA's OVL, the branch in Kamenica, within the framework of the evolution “April Redflower”
Unable to be present, Prime Minister Kurti has been addressed to the family of Witness Isa Kastrati and others, through a letter read by Kamenica municipality spokeswoman Lidiona Marovca.
Full letter of Prime Minister Kurti:
Honored Mayor of the Kamenica municipality, Mr. Kadri Rahimaj,
Dear family of Jesus Kastrati,
Dear families of the martyrs and honored veterans and disabled of the KLA war,
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
Allow me, along with my greetings, to convey my speech to you on this 24th anniversary of the fall of witness Isa Kastrati, between you, at the house of culture “Isa Kasteri” in Kamenica, where you are gathered to remember the patriotic work of this personality born on your side, important to all sides of our country.
Witness Isa Castrat has been showing me personally since I was a teenager. Meanwhile, the last time I saw her, it was on a day that you were killed at KLA headquarters in Pristina, as she was going out, she told me: “I came with the Banca Ademi market that I'm going to front”.
He was starting to fight for Kosovo's liberation from Serbia! Isa Kastrati had known Adam Demach earlier, having been with his group of political convicts in prison. Isa was sentenced and recondemned several times, holding over 10 and a half years in prison. Even after his release from prison in July 1986, he was kept under surveillance by the Serbian Secret Service. After moving to Pristina, Isa turned his house into space for Gjimnazin “Dr. Ali Sokoli”
During the 1990s, he was very involved in political activities, until he joined the armed groups of the Kosovo Liberation Army. After the outbreak of war in Drenica, Isa organised the Emergency Council in Pristina for waiting for displaced refugees within Kosovo. Isa Kastrati was killed in combat with Serb forces 24 years ago, on April 22, 1999, at Marici's Bullaj in Malta in Gollak.
He died with Africa of the year and Sokol Sopp. Recalling the life of this freedom activist of his people, accept my highest considerations for this fighter for the liberation of Kosovo. Glory to the patriotic work of the Witness Isa Kastrati and all those who fall for Kosovo freedom! Thank you.
