Citizens of Albania and Kosovo have the lowest per capita annual expenses for clothing and shoes, according to Eurostat data, an indirect indicator of their poverty.

According to Eurostat data, the nominal spending per capita of Albanian citizens in 2021 was 147 euros, much lower than the European Union average of 681 euros.
For Kosovo given is 2020, with 130 euros per capita.
All countries of the region, which are even the poorest in Europe, spend less on clothing, where the highest is registered in Montenegro, with 348 euros per capita per year.
In total, the expenses for clothing and shoes in Albania for 2021 were 413m euros, according to Eurostat.
The European record of clothing is kept by the Norwegians, the Austrians, the Danishs, with over a thousand euros per capita, influenced and high clothing prices in these countries, but it doesn't fall behind even the Italians (943 euros), which although they are not as rich as Nordic countries spend much on clothing as it is to <x0-justified” the perception that they are the fashion center.
Where are the cheapest prices
If you want to buy cheap clothes and shoes in Europe, the best is Turkey. The country, which is also a major clothing producer, has the price of 45.3% of the European Union average.
After Turkey ranks Bulgaria at 76.6% of the European average. The third cheapest is North Macedonia (78.7).
You can also find clothing and shoes in the United Kingdom (85.6).
In Albania, prices are 8.8% of the European average, almost at the same levels as Spain.
In Italy, prices are slightly more expensive than the European average (103%).
If you go to Nordic countries, you do well not to address shops, since clothes and shoes have salt prices, about 30% more expensive than the European Union average and about 4 times more than in Turkey.
The local clothing market oriented by cheap brands
The country's clothing market remains largely informal and fragmented. Operators claim that Albanians love luxury and clothing in style, but because of low income, most continue to spend more on economic clothing.
The low number of high-income individuals does not favour expanding the market of expensive brands, which are very low in the country with direct representation.
In 2021, among many brands of clothing with economic prices and contemporary style, the favourite Albanians were the ones from brand “LC W AIICI”, “Zara” and some brands traded by the company “Fashion Group Albania”.
In 2021, company revenues “ITX Albania” (including clothing stores like: “Zara”, “Bershka”, “Pul & Bear”, “Stradivarius”, “Massimo Dutti” and “Zara Home”) was 5 billion dollars, up 56% from next year, according to balance data.
According to balance data, company revenues “LC W THE Retail AL S.H.k.” in 2021 reached $4.6 billion, about 37% more than 2020.
