KMDLNJ: Citizens have been robbed by ZRE through bill-inflated, seeking compensation

KMDLNJ through a media response has said that the country's citizens were looted by ZRE through the inflating of bills to pay the electricity to Serbs in northern Kosovo.

According to them, the form of citizens' compensation is still being shown, meanwhile by the KMDLNJ that ZRE will exploit the right to complain.

In response to the KMDLNJ say citizens should by no means accept compensation if this compensation occurs through “ulje“of the bill value, as they say citizens will not benefit anything from this compensation.

Citizens alike, according to the KMDLNJ, should present criminal confessions to ZRE for all inflated bills.

“Krahas demand for compensation, which will be on individual grounds, all who would seek compensation, this request should also co-operate a criminal row so that the ZRE will not pass without legal consequences because it did an act, inflating bills for the inexplicable flow that constituted all elements of the criminal act”, is said in response.

The Supreme Court of Kosovo has ruled that Kosovo citizens, insolvers of electricity bills will be compensated, who for years have been looted by ZRE through the inflating of bills to pay the electricity to Serbs in northern Kosovo who, to this day, do not pay the electricity, water, waste, or other municipal services. Realistically, no form of compensation is indicated, while ZRE will exploit the right to complaint. KMDLNA, has consistently reacted against this discrimination that Kosovo citizens have done to the ZRE and the energy operator for the fact that they have been illegally billed with energy they haven't spent. In this context, he has always demanded that citizens return to the vehicles looted by the ZRE but that there was no decision by the competent court to make compensation. At a meeting with former Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, KMDLNj had demanded that the government not pay the electricity to Serbs, rather than Serbs in northern Kosovo, as if looted citizens were compensated for so many provisions they were illegally taken. Even the parliamentary Commission had found that the billing was illegal, as was the repayment of debts for Serbs and others in northern Kosovo.

Following the Supreme Court of Kosovo's ruling on compensation for citizens damaged by the illegal and criminal action of ZRE, options and forms are being discussed in the opinion, and the amount that must be compensated. In the meantime, ZRE, with the government's abnormal reconciliation, increased energy bills for 15 %s while even in this profitable case, are those who have never paid any bills for the spent flow they didn't care about, even if it was 1000%. The period of compensation, if there will be compensation, is not real, should be included a longer period. Citizens should by no means accept compensation, if compensation occurs, through “ “of bill value because they will not benefit from this compensation, they will be misled as they have been deceived so far. There is no mechanism that would monitor compensation regularity. Kosovo citizens, damaged by ZREA's criminal act through the inflating of bills, must insist that compensation, if compensation is made, be made by money by counting legal interest, as well as the price of tariffs that should be at the time when it is damaged, not at today's price. This would be the minimum that damaged citizens would benefit from. In addition to the request for compensation, which will be on individual grounds, all those who would seek compensation should join a criminal row so that ZRE will not pass without legal consequences because it did an act, inflating bills for the inexplicable flow that made up all elements of the criminal work.

A next blow to most Kosovo citizens was the multiplied increase in property tax that was included in the 2023 bills, without a preliminary notice for Kosovo citizens. With this increase, in some cases there were bills higher than 400 ʹ 500 % compared to the previous year. It was a powerful reaction that then set in motion efforts to get out of this situation only temporarily. The Ministry of Finance, without any legal basis, proposed that all taxpayers be repaid 100 euros, perhaps as ambitable charities but that do not resolve the issue in the long term. And that means that this year you are set free for 100 euros, and in the following years the bills are sent off with abnormal growth that this minister made. The municipalities were found in situations where they cannot implement a 100-euro pardon without a legal basis, while the Ministry of Finance has launched legal initiatives for this proposal to be legitimate. Now, municipalities are not satisfied with this proposal because, according to them, they will lose millions and millions of euros. Citizens are at stake with this ping pong game between the Ministry of Finance and the municipalities in the fact that if by the end of April 2023 they don't pay their first tranche, they will have punitive interest.

KMDLNY has proposed and proposes that the second tranche be paid by the end of the calendar year, not that citizens be forced to pay off this tranche by the end of October, and that any delay is accompanied by punitive interest.

KMDLNIS requires the relevant parliamentary commissions to react, both in terms of electricity compensation and in property tax for the fact that, in the first case and in the second, we are dealing with flagrant human rights violations.
