Today (Monday) in Kosovo's Specialised Chambers (DHSK) in The Hague, the trial against former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and three other former Kosovo officials begins on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Kosovo's Specialised Chambers report that on April 3, 2023, the trial will be opened against Hashim Thaci and other indictees.

It is scheduled for the opening statements to be held on April 3, 4, and 5th, starting at 9: 00 a.m. Court hearings can be forwarded to the tribunal's three languages -- Albanian, Serbian and English -- through broadcasting function on the DHSK website, with a 45-minute delay of”, the Kosovo Specialised Chambers Community said.

The initial act against four indictees was confirmed on October 26, 2020, and changed on September 3, 2021, April 29, 2022, and September 30th, 2022. The less editing version of Aktakuza was delivered on February 27, 2023. This is currently the indictment in effect in this court case.

According to the Aktakuza report, it is revealed that the crimes for which the charges were filed were committed at least from March 1998 to September 1999, and occurred in several countries in Kosovo, as well as in Kukes and Chahan, in northern Albania.

Former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders are staying in custody in The Hague from November 2020.

The defence of former KLA leaders has expressed concern over the length of the prosecution, which has envisioned 700 hours for its case.

Otherwise yesterday in Pristina, the “Liria platform has a name”, organised Marsh citizen and solidizers in support of the KLA's fair war and its former leaders, Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi and their associates in The Hague.

Thousands of citizens from Kosovo's cities, Albania and other areas where Albanians live took part in the march.

Kosovo Radio Television (RTK) has sent a special team, where it will closely report developments about the start of the trial at The Hague.
