This news, American analyst and legalist at the “Johns Hopkins” University, Edward Joseph has commented, saying that the pro-member Kosovo vote draws Serbs to the much-deserved association.
The KiE vote promotes prospects for forming the Serb majority municipalities. Implementation (of the Association) will make Kosovo's membership in the KiE inevitable, giving Serbs access to the European Court for Human Rights. As well as, visa liberalisation will finally enable Serbs free movement in the EU”, Joseph wrote on Twitter.
He has criticised Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq and Serbian diplomacy for unhindered efforts to prevent Kosovo's membership in this European organisation.
“Belgrade would have to celebrate the pro vote in KiE and visa liberalisation, rather than sabotage elections in northern Kosovo. After all, Kosovo Serbs are the biggest beneficiaries”, he has praised.
Kosovo has applied for membership in the Council of Europe on 12 May 2022.
The Council of Europe, the oldest European organisation to deal with the development of democracy and human rights, has specific procedures for accepting new members. These procedures are passed through the Council of Ministers and the Parliamentary Assembly, attended by MPs from member states parliaments.
In this decision there were 33 votes for, seven against and five abstentions.
The CoE votes almost entirely boosts prospects for forming the Association of Serbian Majority Multiplates. Imploreation will make Kosovo CoE current enabled, giving Serbs access to @ ECHR CEDH. And the visa liberalisation will eventually give Kosovo Serbs free ride to EU. 2/5
