James Rubin's mission against Russian propaganda in the Balkans, how its site was skipped, Serbia

The spread of Russian propaganda in the Balkan region and the danger of such a phenomenon has prompted the special emissar and co-ordinator for the Global Action Centre, James Rubin, specifically appointed for the job, to conduct a visit to the Balkans. However, Ruby on his visit has bypassed Serbia, Putin's supportive country and Moscow's main source of propaganda in the region.
But why such a decision by the former American assistant? -In this regard he has spoken in an interview for Radio Free Europe, where he has also shown that because of the current political situation and because of his commitment in the 1990s he doesn't think he's the right American diplomat to visit Serbia.
Rubin has stayed in Kosovo, even though it is officially not announced he will visit Kosovo. Nor has he attended meetings with country officials.
I will not travel to Serbia on this occasion. Look, I'm realistic. You know, considering my past, I'm probably not the best diplomat to meet with Serbian Government officials. I'm aware of the realities of the region. On the other hand, we have an opportunity now and we can talk about it in a minute where Serbia and Kosovo can begin to normalise their relations and we just leave behind some of these past injustices”, James Rubin told the REL.
Ruby herself has found in this interview that much of the dezinformation comes from Serbia.
I think that the entire region is generally vulnerable to the problem, because the media spread widely in the region from many different countries. Of course, much of it comes from Serbia. And that's a big problem to address.
But other governments in Montenegro, in northern Macedonia, must prevent or try to prevent such lies from spreading, using any means they can. We would like to see that they create government units, that can start to examine and analyze this problem, so that we can try to stop it”, he said.
Currently, the ambassador to Belgrade is Christopher Hill, a diplomat who along with James Ruby had been engaged in developments in the region during the 90th years in Kosovo and Serbia.
Whether the current circumstances, climate in Kosovo-Serbia dialogue, are unknown, could be the reason Ruby has saved Serbia at this moment.
