The decision was made during a telephone conversation Saturday, between Iranian Foreign Minister Hossain Amir-Abdullahian and Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, where, among other things, they talked about a series of bilateral and regional issues.
Amir-Abdullahian announced that the Iranian Foreign Ministry has agreed to open Iran's interest section through Turkey to Albania. He also thanked Turkey for the good bids in this direction.
Such a decision comes several months after diplomatic relations between the two countries broke down and the expulsion of Iranian diplomats from Albania.
Official Tirana decided to shut down Iran's embassy in Albania following the cyber attack that brought down Albanian state servers and stole data from institutions. An international investigation conducted in co-operation with Albanian authorities proved the links between hackers that ousted Albanian systems and Iranian state.
