In this regard, Pristina Deputy Mayor Alban Zogaj, in an interview for Online Economy, has said the municipality has signed a new loan that envisions the purchase of 30 new buses, which, according to him, will cover Pristina's entire territory.
He said they are working on a new urban traffic plan, including the public and private sector.
“We are currently working on a new urban traffic plan, which includes the public sector that is a public urban traffic company, but includes the private sector. Soon we will come with the new road map, where we will also open calls for the private sector”, he said.
“On the other hand we have signed a loan for 30 new buses to come to the Pristina municipality. Urban traffic today has 51 buses available. There will be another 30 with this new contract we signed with the EBRD. So the urban traffic fleet will be added and we will engage the private bus sector that is comfortable and relatively young. Thus, with these new lines we completely cover the city of Pristina, but we tend to cover Pristina's suburbs as well, so villages have an efficient flow of transport”.
“And for Arbury anyway, but even beyond Arberi, so do Obilic and Pristina villages. The new plan is envisioned this year, while early next year only comes 30 new buses that expand the fleet and cover new lines. When we engage the private sector, we consider that in 2024 we will have another situation in urban traffic”, he said.
A citizen told Online Economy, said that lack of regular lines in this neighbourhood has caused a big problem for them, according to her, moving to town is impossible without a car.
This is a very big problem that I think the Pristina chairman initially has not considered even a little. It's impossible for us to move without a car, that's blocking us, taking more time from work and going to work. There are no bus lines”, she said.
The other citizen of this neighborhood also complained about the matter, according to him, establishing the regular line has been necessary long ago.
It's been a long time since I've been set up, I don't know what's going on, we need it. I need as soon as it's settled, they're luging all over. More on foot went”, he said./eo
