India has not yet reached the People's Republic of China, but it has for the population. Even according to the UN since Friday (14.06) India has 1,425,775, 850 inhabitants number one for the world's population.
Not All Happy for the Record
Although many in India gladly acknowledge that the world has changed, not all Indians have looked forward to this record with eager anticipation and joy. Many Indians grow up under extreme pressure and competition. They have to struggle to secure a place in a good school, in a hospital, even on a train.

Despite the new record population growth in India since the late 1980s has come down. According to recent surveys, fertility in India is 1.6 children per woman in cities and 2.1 in rural areas. Also, middle age has grown when a woman brings her first child. The factors for this are education as well as the emancipation of society.
Average new age
India's population is also younger than in many developed countries. According to World Population Review, the average age in India is 28.7. By comparison: In the United States, she is 38.5 years old, in China 38.4, and in 42.7. So now that Russia has invaded Ukraine and China is growing stronger, many Western countries at a higher average are trying to absorb skilled workers from India. The Indian government hopes for one, as there are no jobs in India for the country's new population. /dw
