Through a public response Wednesday, KFOR has declared that it expects institutions in Kosovo to conduct a thorough investigation of the events and that those responsible be brought to justice.
“KFOR continues to monitor the situation and is fully focused on the daily implementation of its mandate based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 in 1999 to ensure a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities in Kosovo”, the KFOR statement said.
Another point, notes that progress in normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia is key to sustainable security in Kosovo and regional stability.
“KFOR welcomes recent EU-mediated agreements in this direction and encourages both sides to implement their obligations as soon as possible”, the statement concludes.
On Monday evening a person was wounded with firearms in northern Mitrovica, while the case occurred exactly at 23:48.
Kosovo police on Tuesday have suspended four of their officials in connection with the incident, while one of them allegedly fired guns.
