In a tweet, Ambassador Hovenier says the United States is concerned that crime was initially denied as they seek full police investigation into the case.
“The US is concerned about an incident in which a Kosovo Serb was shot last night in Zvecan/Zveqaan. Kosovo Police officials and institutions must conduct a full and reliable investigation. We are deeply concerned by the initial denial done without proper care”, he wrote.
Hovenier, among other things, said America's support for Kosovo would continue, except those responsible for criminal acts should be held accountable.
All citizens should have confidence in transparency of law enforcement and justice sector. US support for Kosovo institutions for rule of law advances a common vision of a democratic and multiethnic state. Those responsible for criminal acts should be held accountable” wrote the American ambassador.
We remember that four police officials were detained in this case as they previously denied involvement in such an incident.
