US Ambassador to Belgrade Christopher Hill said he thinks the proposal for the formation of the Serb majority municipalities will most likely be discussed in the upcoming talks within the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue in Brussels.
I think the next talks will talk about Association. As I mentioned earlier, the agreements that were signed in the presence of very serious people from the international community must be implemented,” said Hill, Danas reports.
That at the upcoming high-level meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq will talk about association has confirmed the EU's minister for dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak.
He announced that at the May 2nd meeting between Kosovo and Serbia, there will be a presentation of the first draft statute of the Association of Serb majority municipalities.
At this same meeting, formal approval of the Declaration of Missing Persons is expected to be made.
Days earlier, US special envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar said he expects to have a proposal from the Kosovo government for the Association of Serb-run municipalities by 2 May when the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia meet.
Vuciq's Kurt met for the last time in Ohrid, North Macedonia, when they also agreed on an annex to implementing the agreement on normalising relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
