“Serbs have been waiting for this for a long time, but we have reached a point where it will become very real”, Hill told Pink TV, adding that the US believes association is the key to achieving normalisation of relations.
He said that even though there are tensions in the air, he feels that the issue is important and that “will see something important”.
Asked what Washington would be pleased with in the talks, Hill mentioned association again and said he knows he won't be doing the day after the meeting, but that he believes there will be understanding in what needs to be done, transmits experiments.
“Once the issue of association is concluded, we will see progress in other aspects of normalisation,” said Hill, adding that everyone must be calm.
Hill was also asked about the views of Serbs that visa liberalisation for Kosovo and its membership process on the Council of Europe are viewed as a reward, Hill said these are separate processes, but that “understands why Serbs feel this way”.
He said Serbia will be a member of the European Union.
