The hearings at The Hague tribunal against former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders continue today.

According to the calendar on the site of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague, the session is expected to begin at 0900. The hearing is expected to be broadcast about 45 minutes late for the public. Such sessions are expected today and tomorrow.
The hearing is expected later on 17, 18, 19 and April 20th.

No evidence from the entire interrogation by the First Witness Prosecutor during the next four sessions will be heard by interested viewers. No questions to the unknown woman and no answer to her.
This is decided at the request of the Special Prosecutor after she sought to include new materials in this hearing, regarding the testimony of the protected witness.

But this was rejected by the defense, arguing it was not in accordance with Special Court rules.

The prosecution sought to include in the quality of additional preparation material, paragraphs 18 to 21, along with the material containing the testimony of the unknown woman, who confirmed that she was interviewed twice in Pristina by special prosecutors.

After a confrontation between the defence, prosecutor and head of the court, the prosecution demanded that the entire four-day testimony be held at the closed session, which was approved by the chief judge.

The defence said that by regulation these materials could be delivered six weeks after the request is made, not that way.

The “is a bit of a strange process so”, the defence part said.
The judge said the defence has 14 hours available for questioning of the protected witness.

The defence of former President Hashim Thaci and others has repeatedly complained for two and a half years of detention of KLA leaders for mass editing of information concerning the charges, extreme delays, as well as hiding excusive evidence from the prosecution.

On April 4th, 2023 has begun the trial against four former KLA leaders after more than two years.

Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselini, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi are staying in custody in The Hague since November 2020.

They are being charged by the Prosecutor's Office with charges of crimes against humanity, such as persecution, imprisonment, inhumane acts, torture, extinction and murder, as well as four counts of war crimes as arrest, arbitrary detention, torture and unlawful murder.

According to the indictment these crimes have been committed in different territories of Kosovo and Albania, as in Likoc, Jablanica, Llapsnik, Drenoc, Malisheva, Bajgora, Majac, Zlatko, Klecka, Kukes and Rahovec.

The Specialised Prosecutor's Office had announced the Special Court on July 23rd of the criminal investigation against the four KLA leaders.

Meanwhile, April 2022, Z. The SP has filed a changed indictment where it has expanded the charges of war crimes even in Gjilan, Budakov and Semetish.

The persons who were detained and sent to these areas were described as Serbs, their associates, or LDK supporters.
