Haziri after the special trial begins: Justice Must Be Done

The Democratic League has not been involved in recent events and controversy related only to the KLA and its leaders' judgment. But, however, the LDK was one of the key words of judgment in The Hague against Hashim Thaci, Kadri Veselin, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi. LDK deputy leader, the Haziri War, has spoken about the Express Journal concerning [...]
LDK deputy leader, Lufi Haziri, has spoken of Gazeta Express about the launch of the trial process against KLA leaders, who the Specialised Prosecutor's Office has charged with war crimes charges.
Haziri says the Specialised Chambers are the Kosovo institution, and the third attempt to impose justice.
For the third time, Kosovo is facing its past to establish justice. In the first case, the UN administration through UNMIK and the International Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, in the second case, the European mission in EULEX, which has proved and has taken measures to establish justice in Kosovo and now the specialised rooms representing Kosovo institutions, Kosovo legislation, and this should equal the verdict of the people of Kosovo”, he has said.
“Practically, the prosecution presents the position of institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, and the Court gives will on behalf of the people of Kosovo. This is the great truth”.
The LDK has remained silent in recent days, not declaring either the KLA's defence march, which was held on April 2nd, nor the trial that began a day later. However, last week debate has erupted in Kosovo, rather than unfair and fair is the Special Court.
The noise, according to Haziri, stems from the discontent the former heads of state are being tried at The Hague.
This political noise and this debate that is under way in Pristina has to do with dissatisfaction in the case of the initial trial against the former president, former mayors and former VV delegation”, the LDK deputy chairman has said.
The Specialised Prosecutor's Office team has mentioned several LDK activists, accusing former KLA leaders that they have threatened, intimated, mistreated. Meanwhile, the defence and two of the accused, Thaci and Krasniqi, have tried to show the close reports they had with Ibrahim Rugova's party.
Regarding the slying of the party's name at The Hague, Haziri says there is no clarification of facts in the <x0 specific cases for specific names” and that they have not been seen for LDK exhibitors to be subject to the Special Court.
“The LDK has been mentioned in several cases, more in communiqués, but not on other separate occasions. Until we have an explanation of the facts in special names. We have not seen the names and exhibits of the LDK that will be subject to the whitelight of justice”.
He says he has to establish justice for everyone, and justice must be made for all victims, including those whose cases are being investigated and tried by SPS and Specialised Chambers.
“We strongly believe that the justice imposed through the Specialised Chambers will be equal for all, and I wish that the purity of war and the purity of rebellion and political and military resistance will be confirmed not at all, including not only ethnic minorities, but individuals as well. On this level, the great truth is that justice should be decided for all and justly compensation for the victims, and cases that Specialised Chambers have in their investigation, should also be established”, Haziri said.
The four former KLA leaders were arrested in November 2020, while the trial against them was launched 3 April. On the first day, the prosecution has drawn up a summary of the charges, primarily trying to explain that the KLA was structured, organised and the General Staff had executive powers and had responsibilities for other army links. Meanwhile, the protection of the four has been taken in response to the prosecution's claims. They denied that their clients had executive powers in the KLA, saying that commanders of operational zones and Adem Demac as political leader of The NLA had more powers over that military formation. The trial continues on April 11th tomorrow.
