Late last month, the Constitutional Court declared the Law for the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council unconstitutional (KPK). However, the Justice Ministry says it will restore him to the Parliament within a month's period of amendments according to the constitutional establishment. Justice recognisers say a new law is needed, while voicing sceptical that for so little time the same could go to the Assembly for approval.
Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu declared for Kosovo that they are working as soon as they proceed to the Kosovo Assembly as they cannot allow co-poratism at the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council.
But unlike Haxhiu's claims, the dilemma has connoisseurs of the justice system.
The executive director of the Kosovo Institute for Justice, Ehat Miftaraj, expresses sceptical that this law could go on a vote again in the Assembly within a month.
He insists that this law has not yet been included in the legislative agenda for 2023, and that new law should be created as such.
Violet Bulnjak, monitoring in Fol Movement, considers it necessary that changes to the KKP law should include the previous changes in the Constitutional Court's decision.
At the end of March, Kosovo's Constitutional Court has declared the Law on the KKP invalid.
And this Constitutional Decision, Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu, has called it absurd, even a conference on media, stated that the Constitution has largely ignored both opinions of the Venice Commission on this law by giving a severe blow to Kosovo, but also by obstructing reform in justice. / KP
