Haradinaj has said that the war of Ilaz Kodra with fellow fighters turned the course of history in favour of Kosovo's freedom.
Today we commemorate the 24th anniversary of the heroic sacrifice of Commander Ilaz Kodra and his warriors. On April 30th 1999, they bravely fought against several brigades of the invading Yugoslav Army, turning the course of history in favour of Kosovo freedom”, Haradinaj wrote.
He has added that the memory of the fallen may be an inexhaustible source of strength and inspiration on our way to peace.
As long as we recall the legacy of Commander Ilaz Kodra and Brigade 114 “Fehmi Ludrovci”, we assess their sacrifice to protect the unarmed population. Their resistance embodys the very essence of Albanian resistance strong in the face of difficulties and fighting for the freedom of our precious country. Let their memory be an inexhaustible source of strength of the Albanian soul and inspiration on our way to peace, unity and progress”, Haradinaj has indicated.
