German Minister for Europe and Climate near Germany's Federal Foreign Ministry Anna Luhrmann has congratulated Kosovo on visa liberalisation.

She wrote on Twitter that the decision was long delayed, but it is an important step towards Kosovo's EU integration.

“Today, the European Parliament eventually approved visa liberalisation for #Kosovo! Long-delayed decision! Important step towards #integration into the EU+ concrete benefits for the Kosovo people”, Luhrmann wrote.

The visa decision will be officially signed today in Strasbourg by the European Parliament and the EU Council.

The act will be signed precisely by EP president and Sweden's Minister Jessica Roswall, who represents the EU Council on behalf of the next chairman.

Kosovo's first deputy prime minister, Besnik Bislimi, and Kosovo Foreign Minister Donika Gervala, are also invited to attend the signing ceremony.

After the ceremony, Bislim and Gervala will also hold a news conference, the government has announced.
