Today (April 16th) marks the 24th anniversary of the fall of Kosovo Liberation Army fighter General Shkelzen Haradinaj, who was commander of the Operational Operations of Dukagjin and three senior superiors of the Brigade 131” Jusuf Gervala<1>, Hasim Halilaj, Fatmir Nimaj and Luan Nimanaj, fallen in the battle of Maznik.
Shkelzen Haradinaj was born on March 25th 1970 in Glogjan and considered one of the main figures of the Kosovo Liberation Army and synonymous with many Dukagjin battles.
The fall of Marzeen, who had fought for six years without compromise, was a great loss for KLA, family and all Albanian people.
Shkelzen Haradinaj is the brother of General Luan Haradinaj, who had fallen on May 6th 1997 at the Albanian-Albanian border, until a group of fellow fighters were entering Kosovo.
Shkelzen Haradinaj was decorated by President Atifete Jahjaga with the Kosovo command “Hero with the motivation “for the bravery shown during the liberation war for freedom and independence”. / KP
