Fiter Bajrami, many families face serious economic conditions

Many families in Kosovo with incomes that they receive cannot meet even the basic needs of these families. One of the family heads, who faces the difficult economic situation, is Islam Feyzullahu, who lives with the paralyzed wife and the sick son in social affairs residences at the Payout Field in Pristina. He told Kosovo Radio that their life is very difficult, as they live only with the aid they receive from different associations and people's goodwill.

Under the same conditions, each day facing the challenge of providing basics for life is Zarif Gashi. She told Kosovo Radio that the only source has social assistance and that on the eve of the festival that Bajram has received only one food package and that he has not accepted any other assistance from any charity.

Except for the friend who gave us a package that nobody else has helped us. I have two children who have smut, my paralyzed husband, and now there is no help to us before Bajram. I get 150 euros. Come on. Come on. Come on. Hard enough”, Gashi said.

That on the eve of the holiday that Fiter Bajrami, various charity organisations distribute food packages for families we need to say in a response to the morning Programme's Radio Kosovo Secretary of the Humanitarian Association “Bereqeti”, Xhedin Fazliu. He said he would distribute 10,000 food packages to needy families. Fazliu told Kosovo Radio that the food package will be distributed throughout Kosovo's territory, the Presevo Valley and in several villages in Albania.

Even at this Fiter Bajrami party, we have distributed food packages to needy families. This is done for every festival of Bajrami, as we want this holiday to pass as best it is. Once nearly 10,000 food packages have been distributed for the festival of Bajram”, Fazliu said.

Charity associations and various organisations have an important role in helping poor families at the time of the Bajram holiday. Often these organizations organize campaigns to collect food, clothing, and gifts to poor families, and then distribute them among them.
