EULEX: The situation in the north is fragile, we're looking at different scenarios that could happen, we've added patrols

The security situation in northern Kosovo remains fragile, as the vacuum of security and rule of law created after the resignation of Kosovo's police, prosecutors, judges and support staff continues”, it says.
On the other hand, until a week is left of extraordinary elections for the four mayors of Kosovo's northern municipalities, EULEX says they have added patrols to northern municipalities, in co-operation with the Kosovo Police and KFOR.
“EULEX in Kosovo is closely monitoring the security situation in northern Kosovo, even under early elections for the four mayors and two municipal municipalities in northern Kosovo. In this direction, we are considering various possible scenarios and will adapt our presence and activities according to circumstances, in closer co-ordination with Kosovo Police and KFOR”, it has said. The country's president, Vjosa Osmani Sadriu, has scheduled 23 April for early elections for mayors of four Serb majority northern municipalities -- Zubin Potok, Leposaviq, Zvecan, Northern Mitrovica.
