Energy Regulatory Office ( ZRERE has approved new electricity tariffs at the latest collection, which will be more expensive for 15.4 percent.
These tariffs come into force today (Saturday) and will be valid until March 31, 2024.
ZRERE has not indicated what a kWh (kilovat) of energy will be worth in high and low tariffs. From this institution they have promised that the tariffs will be published on the web site, but that hasn't happened yet.
Consumers consuming 300 kWh of growth will be 2.88 euros, of 450kWh monthly bills, will increase 4.18 euros. Those who consume 600 kWh will pay 5.49 euros more, while consumers who spend up to 800 kWh the increase in the bill will be 7.23 euros.
For consumers spending 1000kWh, they will pay 10.51 euros more, and those who spend 1200 kWh will pay 13.8 euros more.
The increase in tariffs has been justified by avoiding electricity reductions. The increase in tariffs by 15.4 percent will be for all consumer categories.
The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted after the decision on increasing the price of electricity, saying that this increase does not affect Serbs for a single cent, who, since the end of the war, have never paid electricity, water, waste and other services, while working for the interests of Serbia and Kosovo institutions.
KMDLNj stressed that discrimination of citizens on ethnic grounds is in full opposition to human rights and criminal acts, and this is happening in Kosovo, Albanians and non-Serbs are obliged to pay all bills, while Serbs do not, since the end of the war until now.
“in a normal country where there are conscientious and responsible citizens and deputies activism, no government would survive reasonable pressure due to the naked discrimination on ethnic grounds. But if this action was done to Serbs, the case would go to the United Nations”, in response.
Reactions for expensive electricity have been made by opposition parties, the business community and the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo (BSPK).
