Election process completes in country's four northern municipalities

The total number of polling stations in northern Mitrovica, Leposaviq, Zvecan and Zubin Potok was 19 with a total of 34 polling positions, of which 6 are regular polling stations with a total of 6 seats, while 13 other polling stations were alternative with a total of 28 seats.

Voter rights have 45 thousand and 95 people, 18 thousand and 118 eligible voters in northern Mitrovica, 6 thousand and 998 citizens in Zvecan, 6 thousand and 661 in Zubin Potok, and in fair Leposaviq had 13 thousand and 318 citizens.

During the day, Central Election Commission spokesman Valmir Elez has reported that by 3: 00 p.m., 2.4 per cent of citizens in Leposaviq have voted 110 citizens or 0.83 per cent, in Zubin Potok 240 or 3.6 per cent, in the Zvecan municipality 145 or 2.07 per cent, and 597 citizens or 3.3 per cent have voted in northern Mitrovica.

Also, Elez has declared during the day that all polling stations have been opened over time, and that no irregularities or problems have emerged.

13 polling stations have been established and held in containers, which have been guarded by Kosovo police. The extraordinary elections were organised following the resignation of four mayors in November last year. Initially, these elections were scheduled for December 18th, but were postponed due to today's increasing tensions.
