Two doctors arrested for bribery, prosecution will seek detention for them

Two doctors at Gjilan General Hospital, surgeon Luan Mustafa and anesthesiologist Halil Basha, have been arrested last night by the Economic Crimes.

Doctors were arrested during custody.

Gjilan Hospital Director Arsim Emini said he was notified by the Economic Crimes for arresting doctors because he had to organise custody.

I was informed that two doctors who were in custody, a surgeon and an anesthesiologist were arrested last night at 8:00 because of suspect of bribery. They recognized me because they were in custody and had to organize custody since they were interviewed and then later found out that they stopped for 48 hours, we were told to organize the job so I didn't have a hospital without doctors. Kosovo police today reported that doctors have been arrested under suspicion that they committed criminal work “taking the timing of” to conduct an intervention.

According to police, the anesthesiologist allegedly sought a bribe worth 100 euros from the victim to conduct an intervention.

While the surgeon allegedly received, in connection with the 330-euro intervention, while, according to police, had demanded an additional 200 euros.

Same ones have been detained for 48 hours.
